Our Members tell us why they joined and support the Optimists Club
Mina: "Helping others and knowing their problems are reasons to join the club. I can hear about diversity of people and their needs. If I can help with the service that I can give to some family I will be very happy! Knowing other people who are helpful to people in need is my goal of joining the club."
Sheela: "Optimists International supports positivity in all aspects of life, early on. Nurturing good habits in young people is a great cause and reason to wants to be part of OI."
Nahid: "I like to do the same for others that Great Falls Optimists did for my students and kids. The Club is opening doors not only to me to help others but also has a positive effect on the community. I hope by joining the club I will be able to help others in need."
George:"I have been an Great Falls Optimist member since 1986. I joined the Optimist Club because I like to give opportunities to the children of this community by raising money. I have worked on many fund raisers such as Bicycle Rodeos, Turkey Trots, Christmas Tree Sales, Cancer for Kids, Easter Egg hunts, etc. I also help deliver food and gifts to the needy families during Thanksgiving and Christmas. I look forward to any opportunity that we have to help out the community and mainly our children.
I have coached the Great Falls Babe Ruth team which included kids from McLean. I also have worked with Special Olympics and coaching special needs adults on softball teams. Both my wife Beth and I are members of the Shepard's Center ride program assisting those that need transportation to and from the doctors and grocery store, this is a no charge program to the rider."
